Debs Week 5
Hello Deb Families!
This week at camp two very important things happened for the Debs! The first thing was their very own show! After practicing for a week , the Debs performed their production of Tangled. They all did an amazing job singing, dancing, and remembering their lines. The whole camp came to watch, and the girls got to show everyone their amazing talent.
The Debs also put on Deb Carnival! The girls had met and planned at various times throughout the summer, and this last week they very busy in Creative Arts making those plans come to life. The girls got to wake up the entire camp in the morning by banging pots and pans, no reveille necessary. :) Then they sang the traditional Deb Carnival song through the dining hall in the morning while they did the bunny hop. After the song, the theme, space, was finally revealed to the rest of the camp. The girls spent the morning setting up, and then, in the afternoon, all of Camp Romaca and the boys their age from Camp Greylock came and enjoyed the carnival. The girls took turns running booths, eating carnival food and playing games. It was a great time for the whole camp, and the girls were very proud of what they had accomplished. After all their hard work they ran to the waterfront and jumped into Lake Plunkett, as a division, with their clothes on!
In addition to the Deb Show and Deb Carnival, some other really fun things happened. The Debs went to Camp Greylock to watch the Romrec girls in their production of The Addams Family. They also went to Barrington Stage and watched an excellent rendition of Pirates of Penzance. At one point during the play there was even a pirate right next to our seats! The Debs were also invited to Birthday Night, where the whole camp breaks into seasons and celebrates a year’s worth of birthdays. The theme was Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory!
This was a great week for the Debs to make memories. The girls had a great time being in the spotlight and invested themselves completely into making sure their events were the best that they could be!
We have lots of special events this upcoming week!! We are looking forward to making many more great memories!!
Warmly,
Jenny
