Juniors Week 3

Juniors Week 3

Hello Junior Parents!

The Juniors are having such an amazing time at Romaca so far! They are so excited to see you all on Sunday and share all their amazing accomplishments with you personally. They’re all improving so much in every activity area, I’m so incredibly proud of all of them! They are climbling up the rock wall and tackling the ropes course with ease, and are becoming pros at kneeboarding and waterskiing. It’s amazing how much they’ve grown in just these past few weeks!

We have gotten to enjoy both the Annex play and the Senior A play this week! Annex put on an incredible performance of Gentleman Prefer Blondes that the Juniors really enjoyed, and the Senior A’s had so much fun performing Little Shop of Horrors with Greylock! The Juniors especially loved this show as they got to see their camp sisters perform! They were so excited and cheered so loud!

Sunday, the girls got to learn about a variety of countries and cultures during International Day! There were 6 stations; Ireland, England, Jamaica, New Zealand, Israel and Japan. Each station was ran by a counselor with ties to that country, which helped the girls learn a lot of authentic information about each country! At England, the girls enjoyed tea and scones as they learned about the British tradition of afternoon tea. At Ireland, they learned the basics of Irish Step Dancing and at New Zealand, they learned the haka, a Maori dance. The little ones especially loved this one, as it involves a lot of fun stomping and yelling! They played Jamaican style Dominoes at Jamaica, and wrote their wishes for the summer on the Western Wall at Israel.

While the rain may have stopped our outdoor campfire on Sunday, the whole camp huddled inside the rec hall and had a fun indoor campfire with divisional colors! Since Romrec was away in Cape Cod, Annex led the camp in songs and made sure everyone had a great time despite the weather. I always love seeing all the little ones come together in their red and feel connected to the whole camp. They’re starting to memorize all the songs and dances, it’s so cute to watch them! The next night, the girls got pampered during their beauty night with Annex! They loved meeting the older girls and getting their hair and nails done, and the older girls loved getting the spoil and dress up the little ones! It was such a fun time for everyone. We’ve also gotten to play a few games with the Inters at night, which is so fun for the Juniors as they love to make friends with the Inters and get to know new people!

I cannot wait to meet all of you this weekend and I know your little ones are so excited to see you and show you all the awesome things they are doing here at camp. I’m so lucky to know all your children, and I’m so excited for all the amazing things we still have left to do this summer!

Warmly, Mary
