Romrec Week 3
Hello Romrec Parents,
Hope all of you had a great week and are getting ready for Visiting Day! We have had an active week in Camp World. We started our week with a trip to Cape Cod. We stepped off the bus into cooler weather than we expected. We went on the Mayflower II and toured the boat speaking to the Pilgrims about their voyage to the new world. We also saw the infamous Plymouth Rock. From there we met true Wampanaug Indians and learned about their culture before venturing to the Plymouth village where we learned songs from the Pilgrims and observed rifle practice. The end of Day one was spent shopping and seeing a movie. Day two in the Cape we sailed on the Bay Lady 2 and shopped in Provincetown. We ended our day with a delicious meal in Hyannis at the Dockside Restaurant. The next day we went to Nantucket. This is the whaling area of the world and the history here is remarkable. The cobblestone streets and little boutiques are charming. We dined at the Tavern and ate delicious ice cream. Our last day at the Cape was very relaxing, the temperatures warmed up a bit and we were able to enjoy a fun day at the beach. By sundown we had dined on Chinese Food in Pittsfield and returned safely on Romaca soil. Even though we had an amazing trip the girls really missed being at camp and were so happy to return only to be pranked by our OOBS. Thank goodness everyone has a good sense of humor. Our beds may have been saran wrapped but after much laughter and a little revenge the bunk was back to normal. We were happy to get back into the swing of normal activities. However, that also included a swim meet to Camp Wahnee, our own Tennis Invitational where we won singles and doubles for the 16 and under plus won 1st place as a camp. We enjoyed watching the Sr A’s perform Little Shop of Horrors at Greylock. We have been busy practicing our dance that we preform at DJ Jeff .
The girls are looking forward to a nice dinner out with you! Looking forward to meetig everyone this weekend! Have a safe trip up to the Berkshires!
