Subs Week 2
Hi Sub Senior families!!
Wow! What a fun-loving, absolutely awesome bunch of girls! I am proud and lucky to be their summer mommy. I have loved getting to know them throughout these past 2 weeks and they have settled in so seamlessley-it is a wonder to watch. We have certainly had a busy week! We took in some Berkshire culture at Jacob’s Pillow. They had a social with Winadu and loved getting all decked out for their first official social with the boys! I had so many Subs participate in the swim meet, on the Cheer team, and in the track meet! They are happy and tired campers, for sure! In between all of these tournaments and on the heels of our amazing show, Into the Woods, we managed to squeeze in some amazing, fun-filled special events and all camp games. Our annual Miss Romaca pageant was a huge hit, as always. The girls had so much fun getting the OOBS all dressed up in wacky costumes-they had such a laugh (and so did I!). Our July 4th festivities were amazing-kicking off with Daniel dressed in an elaborate, homemade King George costume (like in the Broadway show, Hamilton) and he (attempted to) sang a little song and tried to raise the British flag. Of course, the American flag won out and we raised it to our national anthem. All the Subs were decked out in their red, white, and blue gear and their patriotic spirit was strong! We played some fun American games-involving obstacle courses and fun contests, like apple-pie eating, Queen vs. Obama relay races, and much more! Then, of course, they painted their counselors-slathering them in red, white, and blue and then we all had a blast jumping into the lake for rec swim. Of course, our big day ended with our favorite night local guy, Berkshire Bob! He put on another fabulous fireworks display for us and the girls all sat together in awe under the stars. I can’t believe next week is Visiting Day-I want to slow the clock down. I’m off to see the girls and we look forward to watching “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” performed by Annex this weekend.
I look forward to meeting you next weekend and can’t wait to share some stories with you about your wonderful girls. They are little spitfires!
Best wishes,
Ellya
