Debs Week 7

Debs Week 7

Dear Deb Families,

The last day of camp has come and gone, and camp seems so empty without the girls! We had a great last week, with lots of fun and memories.

Our last week was full of traditional camp events. The girls attended the Subs’ Luau SubsWay, and had a great time together playing on the inflatables and eating sandwiches engineered by the Subs themselves. They also went to Secret Show, where they were blindfolded and lead into the Rec Hall to watch a show performed by the Senior B divisions: Club House, Annex and Romrec. The secret theme this year for Secret Show was Annie! Later in the week we went to Counselor Show, where the girls were lead once again into the Rec Hall to watch a show with a secret theme, this time Hannah Montana. The girls really enjoyed watching their counselors perform and reliving some of their favorite camp moments. This week we also had our last campfire, where the girls were able to wear yellow for the very last time!

We ended our week with Mall and Movie Day, Banquet and Wish Night. The girls went to the Berkshire Mall where they watched The Secret Life of Pets and shopped together with their friends. After the movie, the girls came back to prepare for Banquet. All the girls put on their fancy clothes and headed to the Dining Hall to be served a Fairy Tale dinner, and to watch Jeff, Daniel, Lauren and Debra award some of the Spirit Awards, five and ten year bracelets and Loyalty Plaque. The next day, after a long day of packing, the girls watched the camp slide show and headed down to the waterfront for Wish Night. The girls walked to the lake, passing the flame from their candles to the counselors until they reached the water. At the lake, each girl made a wish before setting her candle on the lake.

Departure Day was a sad affair with lots of tears and hugs, but the girls were also so excited to be home. We will miss them so much! Each and every Deb was a special gem, and I’m so glad that they were all here this year to spend the summer together.

Sincerely,

Jenny
