Dear Deb Families,
I am so thrilled to be taking care of the Debs this summer! It’s hard to believe that a week has already gone by and there are so many new friendships already! We have had a week packed with evening activities such as Get to Know Your Counselor (skits performed by the staff) & Get to Know Your Camper (skits performed by the campers) which were an absolute scream. Sunday morning was picture day. The girls decked themselves out in Romaca clothing. We have a beautiful and photogenic group of girls! Later Sunday afternoon, the entire camp played Predator which is where the camp is divided into 4 different animal types on the food chain. The girls got all dressed in camouflouge and dark clothing and put leaves in their hair so they would blend in with the surroundings. They then played a form of tag/hide and seek which is a favorite high energy game. Over the next 2 evenings we played a variety of silly & energetic games along with other games to get know each other better. We created a beautiful piece of wood/painted art at the brand new Creative Arts building the other night and even got SUPER SLOPPY with the Romrec division :-) Super sloppy night was messy and fun as the girls ran through an obstacle course and were covered in foam and all kinds of sloppy things which was a blast! The Debs and I had our first conversation about the upcoming Deb Carnival (the first camp event that the division will plan together!). It will be kept a secret from EVERYONE (including mommy and daddy) and the girls are so excited to start the planning. This is a huge responsibility for the girls and will be a great opportunity for them to work together as a division. I am optimistic that this will be a huge success and I can’t wait to see the girls’ creativity come to life.
I hope you have had a great week and I thank you for sharing your amazing girls with me!!!
Warm Regards, Debbie Hansel
