Hi parents!
We’ve had a busy week in the Berkshires!
We started off with a trip to Greylock to watch Romrec’s rendition of the show Bye Bye Birdie. The girls enjoyed watching their sisters and Greylock brothers shine. Their pouring of love and support was much appreciated by the cast. Cheers and chants for everyone! We love you Conrad!!
Following the Romrec show, we had the Debs’ performance of the Tony Award winning musical: Newsies. The girls were taken back to the 1920s with the costumes, dancing, and singing. It was stunning and so adorable, and the inters surely enjoyed it.
Our huge evening activity this week was Treasure Hunt! My girls were split into separate teams of all divisions, and put their heads together to solve riddles. At the end of the activity, we had an awesome gift for everyone at camp…. BUCKET HATS! All of Romaca was wearing them that night for dinner. It was awesome!
The long awaited Birthday Night was breathtaking and they had kept the theme a secret all summer. The Senior As invited us to ‘be their guests’ at the Beauty and the Beast themed event. Belle and the Beast covered the walls, the girls shared birthday memories, and A LOT of cake was eaten. It was a a giant birthday celebration for all of us.
Deb Carnival will be so much fun later today. We will do face painting, slip n’ slides, a marriage booth, and so much more. Cotton candy, snow cones, a dunk tank and prizes!
Finally, what I’ve personally been waiting for all summer, the Juniors and Inters (Jinters) show! The girls will perform the 1986 movie An American Tail. The girls worked so hard all week and it has shown in every rehearsal. Who knew they could make Russian migration to the US look SO CUTE! I am proud to say I am a hardcore ‘stage mom’ sitting front row and have even shed a few tears of joy watching them practice. I am beyond proud of their talent, the camp will just eat them up on opening night! Somebody hand these girls an Oscar!
Next week we start Olympics. If you think they’ve experienced a lot thus far, just wait for my next blog.
Until then, have a great weekend!
Adri
