Juniors, Week 5

Hi Junior Families!

I hope all of you are doing well! The Romaca summer has been flying by quicker than we can hold onto it and the Juniors are loving every second of it. At the beginning of the week, we got to watch the Debs Show: “Newsies” and all the girls loved it! We also got to go to Greylock and watch the Romrec Show: “Bye Bye Birdie”, and it was such a hilarious show! They, of course, don’t have any idea who Elvis Presley was so Conrad Birdie went over their little heads-but they were mesmerized, nonetheless! The Juniors themselves were crazy busy preparing for their own play with the Inter division. Their show is “An American Tale” and it debuts tonight. It is a story of a young mouse emigrating from Russia with his family after his home is destroyed by cats. It’s an exciting story of adventure and strong spirit! I have watched them practice and they are going to blow everyone away Friday evening when they perform it! I swear, the counselors and I have all turned into stage moms and we sit there in rehearsals night after night sobbing like babies as our girls shine in the spotlight. We also had an all camp activity this week called “Treasure Hunt” where the campers were split into teams. They walked around camp hand in hand, solving riddles and clues that all eventually lead to the same place where everyone was given the grand prize, a Romaca bucket hat!! It was prize that everyone loved! Last night we celebrated Birthday Night; all the campers got the opportunity to sit with others who were born in the same season as them. We sang seasonal songs and had dinner based off the theme that the Senior A’s made; Beauty and The Beast. It made for a really fun evening and there was a ton of birthday cake going around! Today we have Deb Carnival, the theme will be revealed shortly… We can’t wait to play in all the games and activities, that the Debs created. With the end of camp quickly approaching, all these events and activities are making for some wonderful camp memories. With only a couple weeks left, the Juniors will continue to make the most of every second of it!

Until next week,

Fretts
