Hello Senior A families!
What a week! I have to say-they really blew me away this week-we have been in Birthday Night crunch time and they blew the camp away. 36 girls truly working together as one-they are a force to be reckoned with. Even with all of their different personalitites and various strengths, they found a way to paint scenery for the dining hall, make costumes for their skit, plan and create menus for the camp, make centerpieces for each table, write a skit about Belle coming to Romaca and becoming friends with the beast, AND…write and memorize a song on top of all of that! I think it is safe to say that today, during Deb Carnival, they will basque in the glory of their amazing night last night and relax the day away-it is well deserved.
This week we also saw the Deb show “Newsies” and the Romrec show “Bye Bye Birdie,” two adorable very tradtional Broadway shows. They loved them both. It is always such a thrill to watch all of the girls, big and small, shine on the stage, and to watch the girls soak it all in as an audience.
With Birthday Night behind us, I know they will settle in even more and relax-enjoying the friendships and bonds they continue to forge with each passing day. It is incredible to watch them, even now, to learn to appreciate one another and embrace each other as their Senior A summer begins to come to a close. I am so proud of them. It isn’t easy being 12! Next week we kick into full speed ahead with Apache Relay, Olympics, and so many special events.
Oh my!
Until next time-have a great weekend ahead.
love, Ellya
