Hello “SUBS” Families,
The second week of camp has been full of new experiences and even greater days! The SUBS were better than Broadway in their performance of 42nd Street! We were all amazed at how much these girls can accomplish in such little time! They really did put their whole hearts into this performance and they were so excited to show the camp their skills! We also celebrated Fourth of July with a rap battle and fun stations at the waterfront. The stations included everything from dance battles to hot dog eating contest! We sang all the different national anthems and the girls had a blast painting their counselors and group heads, they turned it into a paint war! Some of us still have red paint on our tummies and hair! The day was BEAUTIFUL and the fireworks were such a hit! Everyday at Romaca is so different and filled with such great surprises! The girls’ friendships are my favorite aspect of camp. We had a Sub try waterskiing for the first time this week thanks to the support she received from her camp mates! The friendship, love, and magic that happens here at Romaca is really such a beautiful thing to be able to experience. I think they are all at this perfect age and love being a part of their growth this summer-they are still young enough to be innocent and accepting of others, yet have just the perfect amount of “spice and sass” (as I’m sure you know ;-)-you should have seen them at their very first social last night! I was an overprotective mama for sure! They had a great time getting all dressed up together and loved taking pictures as a group.
We hope your week is as great as ours!
