Inters, Week 6

Hello Inter Families!

In the blink of an eye, summeris disappearing slowly before us. The Inters have made new sisters, wonderful memories, and faced fears they didn’t know they could overcome. I am so proud of all of the chances they have taken and all of the strides they have made. Their show “An American Tail” was the cutest, sweetest thing I have ever seen. So many of the girls had a part and no matter the size-they made each part their own and stole the show with their acting and their solos. You would have been so proud! I know I was!

Grandparents Day was fabulous; and I’m not just talking about the g randparents themselves!. The girls had such a fun time showing them all around camp, and they really enjoyed spending time with them. Some grandfathers even went up the wall! It was a relaxing day to hang out and catch up on summer moments.

We also had Apache Relay in which the girls were separated into Kiawa (White) and Shawnee (Green) teams. They had events such as: a car wash, swimming backwards while reading a magazine, carrying greasy watermelons, water balloon toss, and so much more. The team bonding and quick thinking really got the girls into gear with Olympics just around the corner!

This week the a few other group heads and I planned an evening activity called Super Sloppy Night!! With tension high for the pending Olympic Breakout, (I cannot tell you how many cute little voices would ask me by the MINUTE-Adri, is it happening tonight? Adri, will it happen before dinner? Adri-will they wake us up in the middle of the night? They were so cute!) but, I still couldn’t resist testing their energy a little more with a little Olympic Fake Out of our very own :-) We had so much fun surprising them and hearing them screech with joy and then ended it with a complete shaving cream, baby lotion, and baby shampoo fight! All the girls were caught off guard and they paid us back in kind-don’t you worry-aahhhhh the revenge for them was sweet! We enjoyed a brief clean -off in Plunkett Lake and then raced for the showers.

Finally, the three most intense days of the summer were upon us: OLYMPICS! It broke with a race down to the lagoon field after police cars and sirens lured us there with a fake “arrest” of some unusual suspects hiding in the woods…of course when they came out with their hands up, they were hiding and holding the Olympic flags and screams were heard throughout the Berkshires, for sure! The entire camp was split into four countries: India (White), Australia (Red), Scotland (Blue), and Ireland (Green). There is spirit wear from head to toe, and a HUGE amount of friendly competition going on. The sports have turned all my girls into mini athletes! I love how they cheer each other on even while being on opposing teams.

So far, India is in the lead! Stay tuned….

XOXO,

Adri
