Debs, Week 4
Dear Debs Families,
Wow…this week flew by!!! We kicked off the week with lots of dancing and singing at DJ Jeff!! On Saturday night we saw a superb Romacan production of “Fiddler on the Roof” which was performed by Clubhouse 7 girls and the Greylock boys. Nothing stopped your girls from cleaning, organizing, and creating posters to welcome all of their mommies and daddies for visiting day. The girls were so excited to see all of you and show you their favorite spots and activities around camp! I loved talking and meeting you and I hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did! As soon as you left, the girls’ big camp sisters scooped them up for some tight hugs and we headed down to Rec Swim to splash around. We got back to work on Sunday night, planning for Deb carnival and it was a great distraction for everyone!
On Monday, the girls had play tryouts and started rehearsing for their show, “Peter Pan”. Rehearsals are going great so far and the girls are really excited about this show! On Monday, we had an all camp activity of Counselor Hunt where the counselors hide and your little ones try to find them. All of the counselors are worth a certain value (some positive and some negative) which makes it really exciting. We also had our weekly campfire and the Debs were decked out in their yellow gear ready to sing! Tuesday night, the girls all dressed up for some square dancing with Cliff Broduer. They all learned some new dances and remembered the ones that were taught to them from previous years.
Another BIG highlight in our week was Trip Day! It was a day packed with great activities. We started off shopping and walking around Main Street in Great Barrington. We then headed to Bousquet Mountain and had a picnic lunch on the lawn, followed by mini golf and splashing around down the water slides! The girls and counselors had a blast!! We finished our day with flavor burst ice-cream from Hinsdale Trading Company and made it back to camp in time for dinner. Only at camp do you have dessert before dinner :) We ended the day with our first offical play practice in the Rec Hall!
It was another busy, busy, busy, FUN week for the Debs. In between all of this, we are working on our Deb Carnival which is only one week away!
