Senior A’s
Dear Senior A Families,
We have had a jam-packed week full of so much excitement and accomplishment. The Senior A’s had their first overnight trip and a very successful Birthday Night that the entire camp enjoyed.
Our overnight trip to Lake George and Saratoga was so much fun. We were quite the busy bunch as we rushed around trying to take in all that we could on our adventure. The girls enjoyed every minute of our excursions. On the first day, we played a round of Mini-golf, ate lunch, walked around Lake George, and went on a steam boat called the Minnie Ha-Ha. The weather was spectacular throughout our trip and the girls were so happy to all be together and having fun!!! The girls all bought coordinated shirts to remember their first overnight trip as a division. We then enjoyed a popular stomping ground called Martha’s Dandee for dinner and ice cream. After dinner went to see the movie, “The Incredibles 2” and finally went back to the hotel BUT our night was not over. The girls quickly changed into their bathing suits and we went for a night swim. I was so surprised with the amount of energy the girls had. They eventually went back to their rooms to have a good night sleep. The next day we walked around the streets of down-town Saratoga and enjoyed lunch in town as well. We then headed for Howe Cavern, which is a cave more than 100 feet underground and its COLD! Our final stop was a surprise dinner at Koto, hibachi. The girls were laughing and enjoyed the entertainment of the Hibachi Chefs. Overall, the girls loved their trip and adventure together off camp!
Once the trip was over, the girls pulled together to bring out their creative juices. Their hard work and dedication proved to be successful as they pulled off an amazing Birthday Night celebration for the camp. The Senior A theme this year was “70’s.” They were on par with their skit and song, centerpieces, tie dye shirts, tv dinners, music, and of course twinkies! They all helped to serve the entire camp dinner and you can tell that they all stood tall as they watched the reactions of everyone loving every aspect of the night. I was so incredibly proud of them for their hard work.
Besides all of our hard work and adventures, we saw 2 great show performances by the Debs and Romrec. The Debs were so adorable performing, “Peter Pan.” Romrec and Greylock boys performance of “Grease” was full of talent and great energy.
We did an all camp, “Garbage to Catwalk” activity where all the girls created an individual homemade outfit made out of garbage bags. We certainly have some upcoming designers in our crew. Last night our girls enjoyed a well-deserved ice cream party for all their hard work throughout this week. Before enjoying the ice cream treat, we first shared compliments, embarrassing moments and something we want to achieve before the inevitable end of the summer
This was a great week for the Senior A’s to make memories and I am so incredibly happy to be leading them this summer. Your girls were the center of attention this week and they loved every minute of it.
Have a great week!!!
xoxo,
Debbie Hansel
