Sub-Seniors, Week 6
Hello Subs Families,
Another quick week has been and gone! Can’t believe that we are approaching the last week of camp. It has been so fabulous to make memories and get to know all these kind, beautiful young ladies. Debs carnival was a HUGE hit and success with everyone, the theme was HOLLYWOOD. There were so many fun and fabulous activities like slip and slide and the dunk tank. I was also able to witness A LOT of marriages, at the marriage booth, which I was happy to be a part of their big day. All the girls had such a blast together. We enjoyed the cotton candy, snow cones, and yummy food. It was such a great day that was enjoyed by all.
This week we had the Juniors/Inters show. One of my all time favourites ‘WICKED’. It was fantastic, everyone had a great time watching the girls perform on stage and throw themselves into their character. These girls are talented beyond words. It is amazing to watch these girls learn all their lines in just a short week and then confidenty perform in the show. These girls are broadway ready.
On Grandparents Visiting Day excitment and laughter was in the air. The girls just LOVE their grandparents. They are so proud when they parade them around camp introducing them to their councilors and friends. The grandparents arrived with their chairs, treats, and blankets ready to take on the day. I love seeing the generations come together in our beautiful camp. The grandparents enjoyed making new memories with their granddaughters to last a lifetime.
After the grandparents left we had no time to waste, we moved into Apache Relay. Everyone was dressed in their green and white attire for the special occasion. The camp is split into two teams teams: Kiawa and Shawnee where they take part in a camp wide relay race which is lead by the Romrec girls. During the duration of the race the gris have to undertake a series of challenges along the way including painting OOBS nails, transfer one pitcher of water into the other only using a straw and doing 10 jumping jacks. The tasks where exhausting but the girls pushed through in order to do it for their team. The race eventually ends up at the Waterfront where the Romrec girls have to build a fire and burn through the rope in order to win. Team Kiawa won the relay in the end and all the girls did AMAZING in order to complete the race.
The event that everyone has been waiting for… Olympics 2018 is FINALLY here!!!! The Captains have been crowned and the Lieutenants are right by their sides ready for the most anticipated event of summer. The countries are Switzerland, Mexico, Denmark and Finland. All the girls are decked out every piece of spirit wear they own in blue, green, red and white. The Captains, Lieutenents, along with the Sr. B’s are helping to lead their teams to VICTORY. I can’t wait to see what the next week holds.
Until next time, have a lovely week.
Love,
Bethany xx
