Dear Clubhouse Families,
I am so delighted to be spending the summer looking after your girls! This week we have all spent a lot of time getting to know one another and they are really an amazing group of young ladies. Once the girls were all settled in, we had an all camp campfire and Wish Night where everyone was handed a candle so that they could make their own special and unique wish for the summer ahead. After 2 years apart, it was so incredible to hear your daughters singing the same songs they sang together so long ago.
On Sunday morning, we had Picture Day at camp, which allowed us the pleasure of watching your beautiful and wonderfully photogenic girls all stand together smiling in their green and white after helping each other complete their hair and beauty regimes in the bunk. Later on, that afternoon, the girls ditched the green and white for fun and bright costumes for our annual Lip Sync Battle, where the girls split up into groups and choreographed dance routines. On Monday evening, they had yet another costume change so that they could perform their Get to Know your Camper song. The girls truly all came together to work on their song and it was great to see them all decked out in pink and taking the stage with all of their summer sisters. Many campers and counselors came up to them afterwards saying their song was better than the Annex girls’!! (Shhh).
While the days have been a bit rainy this past week, our nights have been filled with fun activities. This week, the girls played the String Game, where they all shared a summer goal, a fear, and something they’re excited for with one another. At the end of the game, they were each given a string friendship bracelet to connect all of them this summer, as well as serve as a reminder of their goals, fears, and excitements throughout the next 7 weeks. Additionally, last night we had Senior B Statues, where all of the girls from Clubhouse, Annex and Romrec came together for a fun game of improvisation and acting out scenes. All of the Senior B’s were also each assigned another Senior B as their “secret summer sister”, who they’ll leave nice notes on their bed for, helping them out around camp, and more, without the recipient realizing that they are the good-doer’s secret sister. I am so excited to see the bonds that the girls will develop and how this will encourage them all to look out for each other.
The girls are all having an amazing time and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the summer holds for them, both as a division and as individuals. Thank you all for allowing us to share this time with your girls!
Hope you’re having a great summer!
Sam
