Hello Parents,
This week we were fortunate enough to have a few sunny days! The Debs got to enjoy a few days of full regular activities. During Rec Swim the girls were able to play in Plunkett Lake. They were able to swim, take small crafts out on the water, and use the Wibit!
We started the week off with the Senior A’s hosting Birthday Night. The girls dressed in their seasonal colors and sat with other people in the same birthday month, and ate some delicious birthday cake. The theme was Casino Night. The Senior A’s really put on a great event! At the end of the night, we all learned our seasonal songs and performed them in front of the whole camp.
The girls have finished up Debs Carnival planning. They are such a creative bunch! They came up with new games and activities for the carnival this year, and I think they are some excellent additions. The girls also made all the decorations that will be put up all around camp. Due to weather the carnival has been postponed to Tuesday and the girls are beyond excited to show off their theme to the whole camp.
On Friday we had Backwards Day. So we began the day with Taps and Tattoo and pasta for dinner (at 9:00 am) then proceeded with our schedule and ended the day with eggs for dinner and flagpole at night! The girls loved it, it was such a fun twist to put on their days here at camp. We also got to watch the Clubhouse 7 girls perform in Thumbelina.
On Saturday we had our traditional Romaca Relay (formerly known as Apache Relay) which is a much beloved whole camp event. The whole camp was split into green and white teams and everyone participated in part of the relay race which always ends with the Romrec girls and a rope burning contest. We ended the day with a rec swim and cookout. We are looking forward to Olypmics breaking out soon?!
Fingers crossed for more good weather!
Best, Cheyenne
