Dear Senior A Families,
This week began with our big event, which we have been planning for weeks–BIRTHDAY NIGHT! The girls presented their Casino theme to the camp in the rec hall to tremendous applause.
First, the girls all participated in a skit to introduce the theme. Their interpretation of Jeff winning Romaca in a poker game was hilarious and full of fun. The girls played characters including Daniel, Jeff, Kimberly, Luna and Macy, our counselors, and even Lucas from Greylock. They had been practicing the skit for over a week, and it showed in their stellar performance! The girls then introduced their original Birthday Night song, featuring clever lyrics and choreographed moves. I must say it’s very catchy, and has been stuck in my head for weeks! I can’t wait for the girls to share it with you when they get home. They also showed off their red tie dye shirts that they worked so hard on, complete with matching “Casino Night 2021” artwork! The plaque committee then presented their very original poker briefcase plaque, which featured a poker chip for each camper in the division and an adorable Poppa Bear holding a deck of cards and sporting a green visor.
In the dining hall, the camp was able to enjoy the beautiful scenery the girls have been working so hard on, including card posters, intricate centerpieces, and signs for each season. The girls put on their handmade green visors and served the whole camp dinner. They were wonderful servers, taking orders, bringing out plates of food, and checking on their guests. Then, the counselors took over and served seconds while the girls sat down for a much deserved delicious meal. At the end of the meal, the girls presented our cakes for each season, decorated by the girls on the food committee with love, while singing happy birthday to the whole camp by season. The girls also organized a fun game for the camp to play, and awarded prizes to the winning tables. It was beautiful to see the girls work together to bring the whole camp this wonderful experience. They have been so proud of all the compliments they have received for this amazing event!
On Wednesday, the girls led the super juniors and juniors in a Senior As Fashion Show! Two Senior As were paired with a few of the younger girls and designed a fashion line for them to model out of spirit wear. Our girls were such amazing leaders and made a fun night to remember for the juniors and super juniors. They came up with such unique themes for their fashion houses, including fruit salad, slumber party, olympics, and beachwear. I loved seeing them walk the runway and MC to a song of their choice to match their theme!
On Thursday, we reflected on our experience this summer and wrote letters of Honesty to the Subs. The girls wrote loving notes about friendship, planning camp events, and enjoying summer to the fullest. The maturity in their letters blew me away!
This weekend, we saw the Clubhouse 7 show featuring our friend Adina! Everyone showed so much support for our division sister who joined Thumbelina with the older girls. We also had so much fun at Romaca Relay on Saturday, where the girls again showed their leadership skills as they competed alongside the younger campers.
Warm Regards, Amanda
