Hello Parents,
The Debs division had a fantastic week! On Tuesday, the Debs were able to finally host Deb Carnival. The day started off with the Debs marching around camp with pots and pans, waking everyone at camp up (instead of reveille). The girls threw everyone for a loop by planning an Olympic fake out at flagpole. Once all the audience was calm again, the girls unzipped their hoodies to reveal the theme for this year’s Debs Carnival… “Creepy Carnival”! The girls did such a great job running the game booths and handing out tickets. The girls have matured so much during the summer, and it’s evident by how well they ran their event!
On Tuesday night the whole camp got together for a talent show! The Debs participated in the talent show; some girls did dances, some did skits, and others did gymnastics routines. Then Olympics broke out after the talent show. We have two proud Debs, whose older sisters were lieutenants!
The first day of Olympics started with sailing, rock climbing, softball, and fitness. The Debs did a great job earning points for their teams. The second day had some of the girls participating in gymnastics while some of the Debs participated in a round robin tennis match. The Debs all competed against each other during soccer. The last day of Olympics took place at the waterfront! The girls participated in multiple swimming relays, waterskiing, and small crafts events. We had beautiful weather during the third day so an all-day waterfront treat was exactly what the girls needed. Olympics ended with an amazing “Sing” event, where each team performed three original songs before the whole camp.
I am so sad that I will be saying goodbye to your amazing daughters in a few short days. This summer has been amazing and I will miss them so much!
Best, Cheyenne
