Hello Super Junior and Junior Families!!!!
Yet another fantastic week at camp is coming to an end and it’s so hard to believe we are now at the end of week 6. We had another fantastic week filled with lots of SUNSHINE!!!! To start off this week this superstar group went to Club Annex. This was an evening activity hosted by the Annex campers where the super juniors and juniors were treated to a big dance party. While they were there they got to dance with the older girls of course got lots of candy!
The next day we had Deb Carnival where the secret theme was “CREEPY CARNIVAL”. At the carnival we had a variety of food from Witches Teeth (popcorn) and Zombie Brains (Bagel Bites) to Spider Webs (Funnel cake), and Werewolf Hair (Cotton Candy). There were also lots of carnival style games that the girls got to play like skeeball, basketball, and fishing for eyeballs. To give the girls an opportunity to get wet during the event there was even a dunk tank and a SLIP AND SLIDE!!!
However the fun on Tuesday didn’t stop there, that night we had an all camp talent show activity where we believed the excitement would stop but it didn’t. Before we knew it one of the advisory staff members had “injured” herself. Wellness rushed in to help and Jeff called for help and a police and fire department truck quickly arrived to help. Everyone was so worried that the staff member would be ok but then they stopped and OLYMPICS broke out!!! Everyone ran from the waterfront to the gymnastics pavilion for the crowning of the captains and to find out whether they would be on team Kenya (Green), USA (White), Panama (Red), or Iceland(Blue). After everyone found out what teams they were on we all went to the flagpole for the opening ceremonies to officially mark the beginning of the Olympic games. Over the next 3 days these superstars participated in a variety of activities from relay races, to kickball, a swim meet, gymnastics, to performing skits and songs.
To make sure the fun didn’t end with the Olympics, the next day after Olympics ended we got all of the girls together to go up to Nature to hang out and have s’mores with their friends. It saddens me to think that we only have one more fun filled week with these superstars but I am looking forward to all the fun and exciting things to come this week.
