Hello Inter Families!
We’re coming to the end of another amazing week at camp! This week, on Friday, we kicked off evening activities with a Kickball Tournament between the Juniors, Inters and Subs. They were split off into two groups to get a good mix of all the divisions, and played one big game all together!
On Sunday, we went to see the performance of Into The Woods by the Debs! This was a unique showing, as it was outside in our wooded area next to the Rec Hall! This show follows the fairy-tale stories of Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, and more, ultimately going beyond “ever after” to explore what happens next in their lives. The Inter’s loved this show, and it’s use of our camp scenery!
Monday we had the Trashion Show! This all camp activities allows the girls to create their own outfits and themes in their bunks with only one trash bag each! The girls really dressed to impress, making headbands, pants, dresses, skirts and even a bag out of everything they had! They walked in their bunks to music of their choice, for me and our Trainee, Hayley, to judge! Though all the outfits were amazing, Bunk 10 was our Inters winner, and went up against the rest of the camp. They strutted their stuff down the camp catwalk, to Me Too by Megan Trainor.
Monday night was the much awaited, DJ JEFF!! We gave the girls out their tops to decorate to their own personal style, and then the time was here to dance the night away! Songs such as Dancing Queen, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Wannabe got the girls screaming, singing and dancing for hours. We watched the Romrec Dance with great excitement, the girls are already talking about how much they can’t wait to do theirs!
Following on from a day of special events, Tuesday the Senior As hosted Birthday Night! They picked the theme of Harry Potter, unveiling it in the Rec Hall and moving straight into the dining hall for Dinner. They decorated with floating candles, crests from the houses, a massive hogwarts painting, and tables colour coded with the season of the month, Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall. We finished up the evening by playing Bring Me in the dining hall, and singing our season’s songs in the Rec Hall.
To finish up the week, we had Deb’s Carnival on Thursday! They started the day off by running around camp with pots and pans, banging them as that morning’s wake up! We arrived at the carnival, where the theme was revealed to be Paris! They had a painted board with cut out faces for photos, Eiffel Tower ring toss, slip and slide, cotton candy, popcorn, a photo booth, splash zone, ice cones, a haunted house and the famous marriage booth! It wouldn’t be the same without it. It was an amazing day, and a fantastic job for the debs!
I can’t believe another week has flown by, we can’t wait for the next one!
Love AJ
