Hello Junior Families!
Where has all the time gone? Week 5 started off swimmingly as we watched the Debs Show of “The Little Mermaid”. The Juniors sang along to iconic songs from the movie, and cheered the Debs on as they performed. Seeing the show built a mood of excitement within the Juniors, knowing that their show was next! Our PAWS staff then surprised us by announcing the Jinters parts in their show, Frozen!
Moving into the afternoon, we participated in a all camp activity of “Miss Romrecer”! This is a pageant style event where Romrec are divided out to each bunk to be dressed up to a theme of their choice. They also have to come up with a talent display for round two of the show! We had themes such as aerobics, Barbies’ The Wizard of Oz, Dance Moms, as well as iconic characters/people like Wednesday, Taylor Swift and Dora the Explorer! We finished off Sunday with an outdoor campfire (finally!!), singing our way into another week.
Monday brought us a fun day of activities such as Basketball, Waterskiing and Softball, as well as the beginning of rehearsals! We started by learning the song that only the juniors sing, as well as the first few steps of our dances! The girls were so excited to get their scripts, and start learning their lines! For dinner and evening activity that night, the Senior As put on Birthday Night! This is an evening to celebrate all birthdays that don’t happen at camp! The Senior As announced their theme “Inside Out” and put on a fun skit, before we all ran to the dinning hall to find our seats. For Birthday Night, we sit at tables by the seasons, as well as with those who have similar birthdays to us. We sang our songs and chanted each season, and ended our celebrations with a cake for each season. Moving on from this, the Senior As hosted an all camp activity of “Bring Me” and taught everyone each season’s song! We all then went and dressed up in our season’s colors to sing our songs. What an amazing night!
Tuesday we continued with rehearsals for the show, amongst our other activities of Swimming, Nature and High Ropes. For evening activity, we traveled over to Greylock, to watch Annex in their show of “High School Musical 1”. We sang along and cheered them on, before singing the whole bus ride home!
Wednesday brought us activities such as Tennis, Small Crafts and Volleyball, and in rehearsals we learnt the rest of our dance, and started to put this to the music! The girls have made such strides in rehearsal and we’re so proud of all they have accomplished! We finished that evening with our annual “Counselor Hunt” for evening activity. This is a big game of hide and seek, where the counselors hide anywhere on the Juniors or Senior B side of camp. They have to hide outside, and each staff member is worth a certain amount of points! However some staff are worth minus points, and you never know until the game ends. The group with the most points at the end wins!
As we look into this weekend, we continue to rehearse for the debut of our play on Saturday. We look forward to a new week, filled with special events, all while clinging to our last 2 weeks together.
Love,
AJ
