Hello Sub-Senior families,
It is crazy to believe that another full week of camp has gone by. As we like to say here, the days go by slowly, yet the weeks just fly!
To close out week one, the Sub-Seniors participated in one of the most highly coveted events here at Romaca, Lip Sync Battle! Your talented Sub-Seniors worked together within their bunks to create and choreograph a unique Lip Sync routine to a particular song, and this ended in all the girls being able to perform for one another and some for the entire camp! I was so impressed by all their creativity and teamwork - Lip Sync 2023 was for sure one the Sub-Seniors will not forget!
The week started strong with an all division game of statues on Monday night. The girls were broken up into four teams and worked together to create multiple scenes. From “counselors on a day off” to “what our Six Flags trip will look like,” the Sub-Seniors have some big imaginations!
The 4th of July, another prestigious day here at Camp Romaca, was filled with tons of spirit, song writing, painting counselors, an all camp cookout, and more! While the day ended in some intense rain, the girls were delighted to have bunk time to just relax and hang out after a fun-filled day.
The week came to a close with an exclusive ice cream party – for the Sub-Seniors and PAWS staff only – to celebrate the hard work put into the play from the week before. The girls were served by their counselors and oobs (a fun switch up) and selected from a variety of flavors and toppings to create the perfect sundae. The girls ate together, as one division, minging with friends and singing their hearts out to Taylor Swift. The ice cream party was not only a culmination of their hard work from the play, but all the progress the Sub-Seniors have made since the first day of camp. It was beautiful to have everyone – from campers, to counselors, and oobs – in one spot, hanging out and celebrating all that has been accomplished.
With Subsway prep underway, the first social soon to be had, and a divisional hike around the corner, there is so much more excitement in store. I cannot wait to continue making memories, getting to know your daughters, and providing them with a fun filled summer in a place so dear to my heart. Romaca has some unmatched spirit this summer, and I can tell this is going to be an unforgettable summer.
