Hi Annex families,
This week was a very busy one for the Annex girls. On Monday, the PAWS department held auditions for our production of Camp Rock. The girls spent the week in rehearsals where they had 3 days to learn songs, dances and lines with the boys from Greylock. They have been working so hard and I am so excited to see their performances on Saturday night.
Thursday was the fourth of July which is always my favourite day of the year. The day began with a late wake up and Reese raising the flag for her birthday. Then it was time for the Rap Battle. The girls had two hours to put together a song and as always, they absolutely killed it. After this performance was the best event of the day, Paint Your Counselor. The girls got creative, decorating us with red, white and blue paint. On our backs, they lined us up, spelling out Annex 24! As international staff, we got the opportunity to sing our own national anthem. This is something that means a lot to us and the kids enjoy hearing us speak our native languages. We all cleaned off with a swim in the lake and got ready for cookout. The day ended with a campfire at the waterfront and we got the opportunity to see some fireworks over the lake.
Friday was the day before our show which meant the girls spent so much time perfecting their parts with the boys from Greylock. They also had a social at Romaca which meant they had to spend 6 hours with the boys!
All in all it was an eventful week and the girls are super excited for Visiting Day which is coming around so soon.
I hope you all had a lovely week and I look forward to meeting you all next weekend.
Lots of love,
Caoimhe.
