Clubhouse 7 Week 2

Hi CH7 Families!!!

Welcome back to another edition of the Clubhouse Blog. We had a VERY busy week here at camp, so get comfy and grab a snack, because we have lots to cover!

We kicked things off with a Romacan classic, Lip Sync Battle. The girls were split up into groups and tasked with choreographing a routine to the song of their choice. Although the performances of “Trolls,” “Bella & the Bulldogs,” and “Since You’ve Been Gone” absolutely blew us away, ultimately it was the “Bop to the Top” routine that was chosen to represent Clubhouse in the all-camp battle. This activity proved that your girls are INCREDIBLE performers. You all are in for such a treat next week, since you will have the opportunity to see their rendition of “Mamma Mia” on Visiting Day!

This week there were not one, not two, not three, not even four…but FIVE intercamp tournaments. Our CH7 Cheerleading team brought home pep, zest and a 2nd place trophy from Lenox, the Swim Team swam their way to another 2nd place finish, and our CH7 girls led the Romacan Tennis Team to winning 1st place in Doubles, AND 1st place overall! We even had a few Clubhousers playing in the Romrec soccer tournament at WahNee, in addition to their own soccer tournament at Danbee earlier in the week! The Clubhouse girls’ shoulders are tired from absolutely carrying the Romaca representation at Intercamps this week :)

But wait! There’s more!

The Fourth of July is always considered to be one of the most fun, most spirited, and messiest days of camp, and yesterday was no exception. Despite their best efforts to create a beautiful, artistic, red, white & blue masterpiece during Paint your Counselor, that lasted for all of about 4.5 seconds before it erupted into a giant purple paint fight. Never have I ever seen more paint on campers and counselors in all of my years at Romaca! The lake is still stained red white and blue from washing off all of the paint…need I say more? Once we had cleaned off (most of) the paint, we headed down to the waterfront for a Fourth of July themed campfire! It was so refreshing to put a patriotic spin on our usual divisional colors, and a great way to finish off a fun filled Fourth.

As we head into our third (!!!) week of camp, I just want to say that your girls are absolutely thriving “away from the cares of the world.” The Clubhouse bunk is constantly filled with music and giggling, and truly feels like home.

Until next week!
