Clubhouse 7 Week 3

Mamma Mia, here we go again!

Hi Clubhouse families! Welcome back to another installment of the CH7 Blog where you get to hear all about what your Dancing Queens have been up to this week.

On Sunday, the Clubhouse girls woke up bright and early and drove up to the Adirondacks for their hike! The peak that they climbed was appropriately named Giant Mountain… yes, you read that right. I’m not sure if any of your girls will be pursuing careers in hiking, but they absolutely will be retelling the stories and memories they have from those few hours on the mountain for years to come. The moment they got back from the hike, I was backed into a corner in the Clubhouse Common Room as the girls surrounded me, sharing and comparing experiences from their journey up and down the mountain. I’ll leave it to the girls to share all of the wonderful details with you, because their rendition of the hike had us all in tears of laughter. They may not admit it, but they were having the time of their lives.

Just a few hours after getting back from their hike, Clubhouse swapped the mountain for the stage and dove head first into prepping for Mamma Mia! We have so many talented singers, dancers, and actors in this division, it almost seems unfair that we stole all of the talent from the rest of Romaca. As you can expect, they have also loved the fact that they get to work with the Greylock boys on this production, so the week-long social has been a nice little bonus! I cannot wait for them to show off to the entire camp on Saturday night. Plus they are all extra excited for the show on Sunday afternoon, because somewhere in the crowd there’s you!

Disclaimer for when you see pictures of the girls from DJ Jeff: yes they intentionally choose to dress that way. It has become tradition at Romaca for the Clubhouse girls to dress up in absolutely ridiculous “Nerd” outfits, and Clubhouse 2024 certainly did not disappoint. Within minutes, the girls who spend hours deciding which outfit they want to wear to a social were rocking mismatched hairstyles, suspenders, bright red lipstick, and drawn-on unibrows. For once, without the stress of worrying about their appearance, they were able to be silly and dance the night away. The whole night they were shining like the sun, smiling having fun, feeling like a number one!

Before I sign off, I also want to give an update on Clubhouse as a whole. At the beginning of the summer, the girls were just beginning to learn what it is like to live as a whole division under one roof, rather than separate bunks. It is a HUGE transition as you can imagine, since it is unlike anything they have experienced before as campers; but your girls have risen to the challenge and have grown so much over the last three weeks. They have created new friendships, dusted off old ones, and really began to step into themselves as Senior Bs. I am so excited for you to see just how much they have accomplished, and I am sure that they are too.

P.S. I hope you enjoyed my Mamma Mia references, get excited!!!
