Inters Week 2

Hello Inter Families!

And just like that another week at camp has gone! So now it’s time to tell you about all the amazing things our Inters got up to this week…

On Saturday the Subs division put on an excellent performance of Grease and had us all standing up and dancing along with them. It has made all the girls very excited about the Jinters show at the end of the summer and I, for one, can’t wait to see them all up on stage.

On Sunday we prepared for everybody’s favorite all camp activity - Lip Sync. The girls all prepared routines as a bunk to a song of their choice that they then performed to everybody in the division. The winning routine from the Inters then performed for the whole camp where they went up against all the other divisions. It was great to see everybody’s dances and costumes and most importantly their enthusiasm! We ended Sunday the only way we know how, with a campfire, of course! Once again we all got dressed up in our orange spirit wear and sang songs whilst watching the flames.

Our regular activities kicked off once again on Monday. We did some great evening activities this week including some kicking karaoke, a fabulous fashion show and a more meaningful activity where we wrote letters to our end of summer self about our ambitions and wishes for the rest of camp. I am very excited to give the letters back to the girls at the end of summer to see which wishes came true.

On Wednesday some of our Inters competed in the Romaca Swim Meet! The atmosphere down at the waterfront was amazing and it was great to see all the different camps interacting with each other. I can also proudly say that Romaca came in 2nd!!! Also on Wednesday we had our second brother/sister meal but this time it was at Romaca. The girls had a great time showing their brothers and cousins around the camp and introducing them to everyone.

Finally, I couldn’t finish this blog without talking about the 4TH OF JULY!!! We started off our day with an hour sleep in so that we were nice and rested for the busy day ahead. Everybody - American or not - dressed up in red, white and blue, not to mention the tattoos, glitter and colorful hair that was dotted about. The first activity of the day was a rap battle. Each bunk got given a July 4th themed word to write a rap about. It really amazes me how these girls can just come up with lyrics instantly and with such creativity. They then performed them to the rest of the camp to show off just how talented they are. Up next was ¨Paint your Counselor¨. The whole camp headed down to the waterfront where paint was then given out to the campers so that they could decorate their counselors with the American spirit. Of course, as happens every year, this turned into a massive paint fight and ended up with everybody getting washed off in the lake. I have to say this was one of my favorite activities we have done so far…

Lots of love once again,

Izzy
