Senior A's Week 4

Dear Senior A families,

Welcome back to another b’log!

Before we get into it, I want to give a quick shoutout to all of you for making visiting day 2024 so memorable and wonderful. It was lovely to see all of you, meet all of you, and see Romaca full with so many families and so much love. Thanks to all of YOU for making that happen…I hope you all had a safe trip home :)

Now getting into the week, there was so much fun and awesomeness happening here. I would say a huge part of the week was spending time with camp sisters! One night this week was twin night! Your Senior A’s were such amazing big camp sisters and met with their younger camp sisters to make a twinning costume and show it off in front of the whole camp. From a Peppa Family, to Ice and Cream, Cookie and Monster, and Gold and Fish, these camp sister pairs took the stage of gymnastics and put on such a great show. It was adorable and so much fun to watch :)

Next up, a camp sister rec swim!! Your amazing big sister senior A’s met with their younger camp sisters, picked them up from their bunks, and walked over to the lake together to jump in Plunkett. They choose where they would like to swim, from noodles and talking time in deep water, marco polo in shallow water, and paddle boarding in Small Crafts. The sun was shining, and the Senior A’s were the best older camp sisters, making the little ones feel so comfortable and happy here at camp.

Moving on, there was so much to celebrate here, and we had to do that Romacan style with an ice cream bar after dinner, one night this week!! With the hike under their belt, the play behind us, and so much else, we put together a night for them to be able to enjoy some yummy ice cream on the deck of the dining hall :)

For a main part of the week AND my favorite, it’s the highly anticipated trip to Lake George and Saratoga! On Wednesday morning this week, we drove up to Lake George and spent such a nice day there, shopping, eating ice cream, and taking a boat ride on the Minnie-Ha-Ha! The girls know how to make anything fun, on each bus ride taken, there were so many songs sung, from campfire rounds to songs from High School Musical show tunes. They are such amazing campers, and such a special division, the counselors and I watched and joined in, in awe as they sang these songs with so much energy and happiness.

Continuing through the trip, we spent the night at the Fun Spot! It was for sure so FUN, the girls played a divisional round of laser tag, mini golf, went go-carting, and roller bladed for hours and hours! Counselors included :) It was so much fun just watching them be carefree kids and also getting to be a kid myself! The girls did not want to leave, it was just tons of fun all around. Some of the girls even ran into friends from home…so many happy emotions and memories throughout the night!!

At the hotel, the girls were split into different rooms. They had movie parties, food parties, and hung out with their counselors. It was a nice change that I know they loved. Breakfast at the hotel the next morning was a hit, too!

Onto Saratoga, we spent the next day of the trip shopping around! The weather was stunning, making the trip and day just incredible. The girls bought Saratoga merch, gifts for their camp sisters, their Secret Saratoga Sister (one girl from the division!), and got to choose where they wanted to eat lunch. It was such a wonderful day, the vibes were so high. I heard girls saying that this is their favorite summer, that they didn’t want the trip to end, and that they were having so much fun. That made me the happiest, and I can attest that it was just an awesome day!!

To close out the trip, we ended with swimming at a pool in Saratoga. It was a blast, the girls sang camp songs in the pool in huge circles with their counselors, went down water slides, and also played lots of camp games on the grass. Again, they were such carefree kids and it was the best to see!! Finally finally, we officially closed out the trip with Koto in Pittsfield! It is a hibachi place and it was a great end to an amazing trip.

Back to camp we went, with shopping bags, the best memories, and happy campers all around. It was the best trip that I know was enjoyed by all. Now, we are shifting gears to Birthday Night prep, the girls are working so hard in creative arts, and the event will take place on Monday.

Can’t wait to tell you all about it next week!!!

XOXO,

Hannah
